For those of you who are not in the know, National Novel Writing Month, also known as November, is when aspiring novelists from around the world take up the pen (or the keyboard) and whack out

50,000 words. NaNoWriMo's official motto is 'No Plot? No Problem!'; the aim of the game is to hit that coveted 50k and prove to yourself that yes, you can write, even if it's absolute crap, if you really,

really try. So I've sent my internal editor on holiday and I'm planning to show NaNo what's what my first year out of the gate. Let's write some crap!

Weekend [Day 8]

Project Threesome: 11 850 words (me), 29 006 words (all)
Project Hero: 21 452 words

As you can see, both my word counts took a rather pleasing leap forward this weekend. That would be because I stayed up all night Friday just writing, writing, writing, and didn't get to sleep until 10:30am on Saturday, and then wrote some more on Saturday night, and wrote some more today! I even skipped lunch both days. Saturday, I slept through it, but today I was awake and writing and completely missed it. It's hilarious.

...Hm. You'd think for all that time I'd have even more to show for my word count, but I tend to write in bursts. I need frequent breaks to satisfy my short attention span or else I'll get totally unmotivated and say 'screw it' and go to bed or read TVTropes.com or something like that.

For Project Threesome, I introduced Sin to Write or Die and she absolutely loves it. I can't write with something like that but I'm glad I could help her find something to make her write. Rewards systems (oh my god whipped cream is the /best/ reward ever) apparently don't work too well for her. Damn diet, as she says. As for Snooze, I'm rather pleased with the way he's settling down. We're doing quick timeskips now to get to the more interesting parts of the story, and he's not so blurry and confused anymore. Boy's got a sharp mind and I'm finally getting to use it. Mwahaha.

And for Project Hero, I introduced another character! I told my friend she would be introduced into the story about halfway through last week, and to make up for the delay I gave her a rather spectacular entrance, which pleased her to no end. Of course, her introduction's what I've been working towards this entire last week, so now I'm a bit lost for motivation. I'm sure I'll think up something else to fixate on soon. It's time for them to head to the Royal Castle, I'm fairly sure; that'll help with my motivation. I love castles.

Also I love Disney villain songs ("No mooooore Mr Nice Guy, not for me!") the end.
